To say that we like iPhoneography is like saying Frozen was a marginal success. Yeah. No understatement: We are huge fans of iPhone picture-takin’ over here. Which is why I’m always excited to see what cool, new accessories are popping up to tack on to my iPhone to make my snapping experience that much more fun, and I didn’t have to look far this week.
From the makers of the Olloclip we already love, check out the Olloclip Active Lens. It’s a compact, lightweight, 2-in-1 deal with a telephoto lens and ultra-wide angle lens that snaps onto your phone, and works with both the front and rear facing cameras on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

And, as the name says, the duo lens clips on and off your smartphone with ease. No mounting brackets or extra parts needed. Plus, the new lens comes with three wearable pendants, so you can attach the tiny tool to your tote, backpack, keychain, or wherever makes sense for an quick grab.
With the Ultra-Wide side of the lens, you get more of the landscape — or, let’s face it, more inclusive group selfies. The Telephoto Lens lets you get super close to the details with a 2x optical zoom. Though I wouldn’t advise using this powerful lens for your selfies, unless you’re going for the vanity magnified mirror effect and need to see how your pores are doing.

I really like the Active Lens too, however, the one small gripe I had was with its clipping mechanism. Although it slides on and off easily, it didn’t take too kindly to my thin, Zagg Invisible Shield Mirror Class iPhone screen protector. It makes me think anyone with an on-the-thicker-side phone case will also hit a speed bump here, too.

I love smartphone photography or iphoneography or whatever you want to call it and I’ve used many lens systems on my iPhone. I didn’t like olio clip because it forces you to remove your case, not an option for me, and there are too many tiny pieces to manage. It takes too long to get the lens you want for the shot you want. I found this one from Zylus and haven’t used anything else since. I highly recommend it!
