If you’re in need of a fun little project to help focus your energy in a positive, inspiring way, we’re happy to recommend our dear friend Tracey Clark’s Picture Home. It’s a family-friendly, all-ages communal photo project with 31 days full of easy prompts that starts May 1 (that’s Friday in case you lost count).

We’ve known the amazing photographer (and mom of 2) Tracey Clark since we started Cool Mom Picks (and Cool Mom Tech). In fact, she took the very first photo of me and Liz when we started our site in 2006. How cool is that? Since then, she’s started new websites and communities, and written amazing photography books, all with the aim of supporting the pursuit of photography, no matter your skill level.

Here’s how it works: once you enroll, you’ll get a creative photo prompt delivered via your email for 31 days in May. Shoot from your unique vision of the prompt with any camera (or smartphone), then share your photo, whether it’s with family, on your social media or with other participants in the online classroom.

It’s $19 to register, but Tracey has kindly offered up a special code if you’re having financial hardship right now and want to participate but just can’t afford the fee. Head to the site for that code, and to register. Of course, if you are able, as a small business owner herself, we know that fee is greatly appreciated by Tracey.

With such high praise for her photo projects, this is such an amazing opportunity to hone your photography skills a bit, and perhaps gain a different perspective on life at home, with photos you might treasure in a few years when we look back at this time and remember those months we spent in quarantine during the first part of 2020.
