Since 2020 has precluded in-person watch parties, I was glad to see Disney step up their game with GroupWatch. Just like Netflix’s watch party, GroupWatch lets you watch content from Disney+ with others who are far away — and who also subscribe to Disney+, of course.

To use this feature, just click the GroupWatch icon next to the show you want to stream, then invite others using the link. Once you get started, anyone in the group can pause or play the video, and you can easily cast to your TV. You can also click different emojis that the other viewers will be able to see.

Just make sure you edit your profile name and photo before you start a GroupWatch. By default, you’ll all just be “Profile” with a Mickey Mouse emoji, which can get confusing pretty quickly.

That said, I’m glad to see them adding this feature since The Mandalorian season two starts in a little over a week, and I’ll definitely be wanting to share the experience with the other Star Wars fans in my life with a Mandalorian watch party. Because even bounty hunters need friends.
