The Verge video: Cool Mom Picks talks baby tech, the pros and cons

I was so happy to sit down with Arielle Duhaime-Ross and Ben Popper of The Verge recently (oh, how we love The Verge) to talk what’s new in baby tech for their excellent Verge video series, Top Shelf. You get to see a bunch of cool new innovations we’ve covered here too, like the latest version of the Beaba Babycook, the Mimobaby baby monitor onesie, Toca Boca apps, and more.

Plus there’s really good, thoughtful analysis about the benefits (and potential pitfalls) of baby tech, and our perspective on the balance between tech as an essential parenting resource, versus the joys of letting kids just play with the cardboard box that the toy comes in.

As we all know, that’s always what little kids love best. As it should be.

The other thing that I really like about this video, besides how well-produced all it is: Seeing that Ben is such an engaged, amazing dad of two, who can talk bottle warming and baby food-making with the best of them. All while juggling an 8-month-old. Hope you enjoy!
