Anyone else burning out on Candy Crush and 1010 lately? Me too, so I just downloaded The Path to Luma (free on iOS and Android) and I have to say that it’s turned out to be better and more interesting than I expected. In fact, my kids also keep sneaking and advancing me through the levels, which means I’m not the only one who’s hooked on it in my house.

Created by the sustainable energy company NRG, players are sent to a dying galaxy to save each planet through sustainable energy solutions, which might sound a little boring but you’d be surprised. We’ve whipped through the 20 levels pretty quickly.
The app is pretty easy on the eyes (the art is gorgeous), and I love the subtle way it teaches kids, and anyone who plays it, about environmentalism. If you’re anything like us, you’ll finish this app in one afternoon, but it’s free, with no in-app purchases or ads, so we figure it’s worth the fun and the learning experience.
