A future world I envision involves zipping around on hovercrafts, seeing holographic billboards and never having to carry a purse or wallet. (Fine, my futuristic images were greatly informed by Back to the Future). We're probably not at the hovercraft/hologram stage of society yet, but incredibly, the third is now a reality with the Rumba VanDam GO Watch.
This cool watch boasts a lot more features than just telling time. What's futuristic about the Rumba is that houses a chip that includes a unique emergency ID number and payment functionality. You create a customizable medical profile that lets you include anything from an emergency name and contact number to your entire medical history. If you're ever in an accident, first responders can call the phone number on your watch and immediately have access to all your medical information (it can also be linked to Microsoft HealthVault online).
This would be great for older folks of course, or for kids with medical issues to wear at all times.
