We’ve covered our fair share of greeting card apps, like Artogram, Red Stamp and Paperless Post, but sometimes, it’s nice to get an actual card in the mail. (Remember those days?) And getting a greeting card like this one will blow your mind.
Campaigning as a Kickstarter project right now, Gizmo is a cute little robot that comes to life when paired with a mobile app. The premise is that you print out this graphic below onto card stock, mail it to a loved one with a link to the iOS or Android mobile app, have them hold their phone over the Gizmo graphic…and they’ll soon see that cute little robot come to life.
Either he’ll berocketing off a birthday cake, presenting a box of nuts and bolts, or other funny antics. And that’s just for starters.
With full funding of the project, Gizmo will be more customizable and the graphics more varied, offering many more augmented reality card options for other ocassions too.
The campaign has reached more than half its goal with less than three weeks left, so hopefully, it’ll garner the funds needed to get Gizmo off the ground (and screen). Because greeting cards are about to get a lot more fun.–Jeana
